Unwanted body or facial hair affects millions of men and women. Changing lifestyles mean that a growing number of men are seeking treatment to avoide the embarrassment of excess hair. A variety of means have been used to remove unwanted body hair such as waxing, plucking, shaving, electrolysis and depilatory creams have been used to remove unwanted body hair. However, these provide only temporary relief.
At Adjust Laser Treatments we understand the needs of our transgender clients and are happy to discuss the prospects of having unwanted hair removed both on the face and body with a series of treatments discreetly and in confidence.
The energy of the laser beam is absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair. This causes permanent damage to the hair and surrounding structures, creating permanent hair removal effect. Hair follicles with high melanin content during this laser treatment, absorb more energy, and are thus more easily destroyed. That is why this procedure is more effective on dark, coarse hair.

Is Laser Hair Removal Completely Permanent?
Eventually, yes, we strongly advise our clients that laser hair removal is a permanent reduction, not immediate complete removal. There are many factors that can influence and stimulate hair growth such as age, medication, hormones, pregnancy, illness and disease, therefore we cannot categorise hair removal as immediately permanent. In saying this, if clients are consistent and follow through with their series of treatments, you should see approx. 80-90% reduction of the hair growth. However a lot of clients find that the hair growth that comes through is very fine and sporadic that they tend not to worry.
What are the risks of Laser hair removal?
Slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similar to sunburn may occur in some patients. These effects typically last 24 hours or less. In rare instances, blistering may occur. There is no recovery time as you can return to work or play immediately.
It is advisable to keep the skin protected from exposure to direct sunlight for a short period of time. Keeping the area moist with typically aloe Vera gel and wearing loose clothing promote healing. If a blister occurs staff need to be notified . Usually simple treatment such as moist wound healing ( pawpaw cream) and keeping area covered and clean is all that is required.
